Oral Hygiene 101

Cleaning Up Your Dirty Mouth

I've always had rotten breath. This was told to me by many friends and lovers. Finally after some experimentation, I found a good solution...

1. Avoid garlic, coffee and onions prior to contact with chicks. I love Indian food, but that smell stays with you for hours. So on the days I know I'll be in close contact with girlies, I stick with benign-smelling food.

2. Chew gum. Some last longer than others. Find ones that last a while and mask any bad scent with mint. Always have it on you when you're out to pick up women.

3. Scrape your tongue. It's simple enough, and only takes seconds. Do it once a day after you brush.

4. Use an electric toothbrush. Hit all the teeth, the tongue and the roof. Rinse thoroughly afterwards. Get all the residue out.

5. Floss at night after you're done eating. Flossing before you eat does no good getting bacteria out.

6. Use mouthwash before going out. Listerine works better than Scope. Crest makes one that's been known to stain teeth (from personal experience), so best to stay away from that unless you want to look like you're always eating pudding. You can even keep a travel mouthwash in your car to use as needed. When you use it, keep swishing for at least 30 seconds, and make sure to tilt your head back to coat the back of your tongue. Don't rinse with water afterwards.

7. If you think your breath still smells, speak into her ear when possible.

8. Bad breath may be a sign of acid reflux or sinus infection. See your doctor if the above aren't effective. Daily use of Prilosec can be helpful in reducing halitosis.
